May 13, 2012--my birthday AND Mother's Day. It's a beautiful day here in central PA, and I'm typing out on our patio with my 4-legged babies happily napping nearby. Hubby is at work (SU always holds graduation on Mother's Day) and my angel faced offspring is in the home stretch of a confirmation lock-in event that started yesterday afternoon. My parents came out for my birthday, so we celebrated with an all-adult dinner at Vic's Pub last night--FABULOUS evening. M&D left early this morning (apparently being retired does not mean that you don't have many things to do back home!) So, I went to church and enjoyed lots of great music courtesy of boss Bill, his talented off spring, and the 5 very snappily dressed post-prom young men and their fathers singing for their moms and wives. Then home to enjoy some quiet time on the patio with an iced coffee, the Sunday paper, and the poochies.
To all my mom friends, may your mother's day be filled with just the right proportions of me-time, family time. . . and iced coffee.
