Mozart and thunder

Mozart--the pooch who turned me into a dog-lover.
Last night we had quite a thunder-boomer storm here in very central PA.
First-born pooch, Mozart, is not a fan. Since hubby is the Alpha-dog and I'm an endless source of TLC, he comes to my side of the bed. Not sure if he wanted to alert me to the terrors of the storm or if he wanted me to make it go away. Either way, here's how my night progressed:
 a) paw pat on bed followed by pup face as close to my face as possible without him actually getting on the bed.
b) I pet him, whisper that it's ok, etc., all without making eye contact--you must NEVER make eye contact, for if you do, sleep is a thing of the past.
c) With the next thunderclap, Mozart is on the bed and, last night, laying on my pillow curled around my head, and so we nod off.
d) Hubby notices pup/pillow and coaxes him to move down to the foot of the bed. This lasts until the next thunderclap, when . . .
e) pup rearranges himself like a blanket on top of me. Too tired to care, we all return to the land of nod until morning.
Hubby, daughter, and girl puppy pretty much sleep through the whole thing. Boy puppy and I had a couple of hours of special bonding time when the rest of the house was sleeping.
Today I'm jacked up on java to keep the mind, eyes and hands in sync. So far, so good.
May all your thunderstorms be filled with a warm puppy, too!
B
